क्या कहते हैं मां बापः. वे कहते है यह मारा मारी, नाइन टू सेवन की जिंदगी हम बच्चों के लिए ही तो जी रहे हैं। बच्चों के सभी सुख सुविधायें, अच्छी शिक्षा, स्टैंडर्ड लाइफ दे सकें। इसीलिए तो हम जी तोड़ मेहनत करते हैं। हमारे त्याग को वे आज समझें, ना समझें कभी तो समझेंगे ही। दीपाली माथुर का कहना है, ‘हमने अपने बेटे संचित को वैलहम जैसे महंगे और प्रेस्टीजियस स्कूल के बोर्डिग में इसीलिए तो डाला है ताकि उनका भविष्य बन जाए, इसलिए तो मुझे नौकरी करनी पड़ रही हैं।’ परिस्थितिवश भी बढ़ती है दूरीः. नीलेश का ट्रांसफर किसी छोटे शहर में हो गया, तो पत्नी और दोनों बच्चें जयपुर ही रहे ताकि बच्चों की पढ़ाई में हर्ज न हो। नीलेश का ट्रांसफर बाद में किसी और जगह हो गया। बच्चों के साथ ही नीलेश और उसकी पत्नी में भी दूरियां आ गई थी। नीलेश ने दूसरी औरत को रख लिया था। मां को घर बिखरने के गम से ज्यादा अपने पर फक्र था कि ये त्याग मैंने अपने बच्चों के लिए कियां निषिता सारा दिन आॅफिस में कम्प्यूटर पर काम करके इतना थक जाती थी कि नन्हीं साक्षा के साथ समय बिताने के लिए उसके पास ऊर्जा ही शेष नहीं बचती थी। उसके सवालों का जवाब देते समय वह खीज जाती थी। मां के बजाय साक्षा पड़ोस वाली आंटी के ज्यादा करीब हो गई थी।
टी.वी. केबल संस्कृतिः. मां की ममता, दुलार, उसका अभय दान देता संरक्षण, सुखदायी सान्निध्य और एक अवर्णनीय निरंतर प्रवाहित होती ऊष्मा का अपने आप में संपूर्ण अहसास ना मिलने पर बच्चा एक अव्यक्त गहरी उदासी में डूब जाता है। ऐसे में वह अपनी मन कंप्यूटर गेम्स, टी.वी. से बहलाते है। आज जो बच्चे असमय बड़े होते नजर आते हैं इसके पीछे टी.वी. कल्चर का बड़ा हाथ है। वे धीरे-धीरे इतने टी.वी. एडिक्ट हो जाते है कि, उन्हें बाहर खेलना, मित्र बनाना भी अच्छा नहीं लगता। एकाकी होते बच्चे अपने में ज्यादा गुम रहने लगते है। टी.वी. के कारण आपसी संवाद भी नहीं हो पाता हैं।
